Following the approach that Galaxyvalor has had in the community where Viseu Retail Park operates, an event focussed on emigrants was organised. The Retail Park welcomed our emigrants who give the city, the region and the country an outstanding reputation in their host countries. Galaxyvalor chose to do so by way of a competition to praise the beauty of our emigrants, their daughters and granddaughters who come to spend their summer holidays in their homeland, during the month of August.

The event elected Miss Emigrant Viseu Retail Park, her Matrons of Honour (first runner-up and second runner-up), Miss Congeniality and Miss Photogenic. It was held from the 7th to the 16th August.

With an extensive program, the Misses were given the opportunity to visit some important points of the city of Viseu such as the Town Council of Viseu where they were received by the President of the Council, the Quinta da Cruz, the Viscountess S. Caetano Retirement Home and the Viseu Firemen's Corporation who participated in an event to raise awareness for the forest fires damages.

The event featured a semi-final at the well-known centennial Feira de São Mateus (Saint Matthew's Festival) where hundreds of people watched, and ended with the Grand Final at Viseu Retail Park, which included the presenter José Figueiras, who is well known among the emigrant community.

The event was a huge success and very well received by our emigrants as well as across the local community, having had the support of several organizations including the Viseu Town Council, St. Matthew's Festival, the Central Region Tourist Office, and NB night club. We appreciate the support demonstrated by all those present.
